The Global Shoppe

Nestled inside Mama Carmen's Espresso Café is a small boutique called The Global Shoppe.  It offers products from a host of countries and cultures - all handmade, all with a story attached, and all directly helping the poor in places like Nepal, Uganda, Honduras, and India.

The Global Shoppe was formed to use everyday commerce in Northwest Arkansas as a means of enhancing the physical and spiritual wellbeing of people in underdeveloped communities throughout the world. The Global Shoppe operates in the spirit of fair trade, seeking to make a positive difference in the lives of the artisans with whom we work by purchasing their products for a fair price and providing market access for their products in the US, as well as working with other like-minded people and organizations.

We take our charter and tag line from Isaiah chapter 61 which states,
“He sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives… and to bestow upon them a crown of beauty instead of ashes.”
We believe that our business can be a powerful, redemptive force in the lives of the artisans with whom we work.
